Formawall, CENTRIA’s flagship building enclosure system, provides architects unprecedented design possibilities in a single-component IMP (insulated metal panel). Combined with Formawall system’s legendary and maintenance-free hygrothermal performance – thermal, air, water, and vapor protection – architects are assured a building enclosure that looks as beautiful as it performs, all in a single remarkable component. Plus, Formawall is a complete enclosure system that includes integrated windows, sunshades, daylighting panels, and louvers that are engineered to integrate seamlessly with Formawall panels.

FOAMED IN PLACE
Unlike other IMPs, manufactured by adhering rigid foam board to metal facers, Formawall panels are foamed in place, where liquid foaming components are combined as metal facers are positioned. The liquid insulating foam expands and sets into a solid state, filling all voids and producing a remarkably strong and lasting metal-to-insulation bond. This results in maximum panel insulation value, strength, and flatness.

HALOGEN-FREE AND ENHANCED FIRE RESISTANCE
Halogens are toxic chemicals that negatively impact the environment and the human body. Unlike traditional polyisocyanurate (PIR) insulation, CENTRIA’s proprietary PIR formulation used with Formawall is halogen-free. Equally important, the Formawall system has been extensively tested to NFPA 285 to validate its fire performance.

SOPHISTICATED JOINERY
Formawall IMPs feature panel joinery unequalled for preventing water penetration. This joinery is uniquely designed to combat the physical forces that cause water penetration including air pressure drop, kinetic energy, capillary action, gravity, and surface tension. Combined with Formawall panel’s full perimeter concealed seals, Formawall system ensures a long-lasting weathertight building enclosure.

Architectural metal panels are a type of exterior siding to enhance the aesthetic appeal of a building while also providing functional benefits such as weather protection and thermal insulation. Architectural metal panels can be used for both interior and exterior applications, and are often installed as wall cladding, roofing, or as decorative features. CENTRIA’s Formawall Dimension Series features vertical or horizontal installation to fit your building’s style. Metal wall panels can be called by different names depending on their specific type and application. Insulated Metal Panels (IMPs) are a lightweight wall or roof system made with two coated metal panels, formed on either side of an insulating foam center.

Metal panel cladding is a building material system that involves covering a building’s exterior walls with metal panels for aesthetic and structural purposes. Metal cladding may be used for roofing or wall material. Metal cladding also has aesthetic and design purposes, adding versatility to any structure. The panels can be installed with a variety of different systems to provide support and attachment to the building structure, such as concealed fastener systems or exposed fastener systems.

The R-value of insulated metal panels (IMPs) varies depending on the thickness of the foam core and the type of foam used. The R-value of an IMP can range from R-16 to R-32 or more, depending on the specific product and application. The higher the R-value, the better the thermal insulation performance of the panel. The R-value of CENTRIA’s insulated metal panels achieve a staggering per inch R-value as high as 8 and U-factor as low as 0.045. With these robust insulating values, IMPs are effective with meeting energy codes across all climate zones.
