Moon Township, Pa., Nov. 7, 2014 — CENTRIA is proud to announce that five of its foam products have received Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs). Formawall Dimension Series Insulated Metal Panels, MetalWrap Insulated Composite Backup Panels, Versapanel Insulated Metal Panels and Versawall Insulated Metal Panels—are certified with EPDs by UL Environment
, an independent safety science company.
EPDs offer a comprehensive, internationally harmonized report that documents the ways in which each product, throughout its lifecycle, impacts the environment. Similar to, but far more robust than, the concept of a “nutrition label,” an EPD tells the complete sustainability story of a product.
“CENTRIA is committed to sustainability and to environmental awareness and transparency in the building process,” Julie Pawuk, Marketing Communications Manager, CENTRIA. “Architects can be confident that when they specify CENTRIA products they are specifying products that are not only aesthetically pleasing with excellence performance, but ones that are also sustainable.”
One of the major advantages of EPDs is their ability to impact LEED certification In addition EPDs can be used by architects and contractors to make more educated purchasing decisions and serve as an excellent product comparison tool for the consumer.
CENTRIA is at the forefront of the industry when it comes to environmentally friendly manufacturing processes and the responsible use of natural resources. This commitment to sustainability has resulted in some of the most innovative building products on the market today. As a result, the products are manufactured from recycled content, result in less jobsite waste, reduce building heating and cooling costs, as well as lead to decreased maintenance and replacement costs.
