CENTRIA Announces New Versacor® Ultra Coatings Ultra family of premium coatings offers protection, performance and aesthetics
Moon Township, Pa., April 14, 2009 — CENTRIA (www.CENTRIA.com) announces Versacor Ultra, new high-build coatings that offer enhanced protection against harsh climatic or environmental conditions. Compared to most thin-film architectural coatings available, Versacor Ultra coatings provide a 3-mil-thick Versacor Ultra Barrier Coat Primer over the metal substrate and several topcoat finish combinations to achieve superior resistance against corrosion, humidity and abrasion.
“CENTRIA has more than 100 years of experience and technology in providing high-quality color and coating solutions for metal walls and roofs,” said Rick Brow, Director of Marketing for CENTRIA Architectural Systems. “These Versacor Ultra coatings not only continue that tradition of quality in terms of performance, they also satisfy owners’ and architects’ aesthetic needs with a full palette of color options.”
Coatings within the Versacor Ultra family include Versacor Ultra PF and Versacor Ultra TF and HF. Versacor Ultra PF is ideal for corrosive architectural applications such as coastal environments. This coating consists of a 3-mil-thick Versacor Ultra Barrier Coat Primer and a .8-mil-thick PVDF top coat. On industrial applications, Versacor Ultra TF and HF combine the superior corrosion resistance of the 3-mil-thick Versacor Ultra Barrier Coat Primer with the durability of a Urethane topcoat. The Urethane topcoat ranges from 1.5-mils thick on Versacor Ultra TF to 3-mils thick on Versacor Ultra HF.
Additionally, on most of CENTRIA’s Profile Series panels with a Versacor Ultra coating system, an additional 3-mil-thick Versacor Barrier Coat Primer is applied to the interior of the metal substrate, offering full reverse side coating protection. A Urethane topcoat, wash coat or primer is then applied over the barrier coat, helping to protect the metal against corrosion from the interior. As more exterior walls are designed with back ventilated rainscreen wall systems, this additional protection can extend the life of the wall system.

CENTRIA Introduces SolarCrestTM
New line of superior solar roof panels provides energy solutions, resolves issues of the past
Moon Township, Pa., April 02, 2009—CENTRIA (www.CENTRIA.com) introduces SolarCrest, a line of superior solar roof systems that will help reduce building costs and increase the value of the finished structure over time. Ultimately, SolarCrest will aid in sustaining and protecting the environment by providing a highly effective and efficient renewable energy source.
“SolarCrest provides 20 percent more energy production (kWhr) per rated output than polycrystalline silicone panels by using a thin-film Building Integrated Photovaltaic (BIPV) technology to an already exceptionally engineered roof system,” said Julie Pawuk, marketing communications manager for CENTRIA.
SolarCrest roof panels are manufactured using CENTRIA’s Versapanel® foam composite roof panels, which provide a complete roofing system including superior thermal insulation, weatherproofing and an air and vapor barrier. SolarCrest is also available on CENTRIA’s standing seam roof panels.
Because of its thin film technology and integrated design, SolarCrest is lightweight for easy installation and helps to reduce building and labor costs because on-site assembly is not required. SolarCrest is also highly durable, helping it stand up to foot traffic, and is backed by a 20-year guarantee.

CENTRIA Introduces New Formawall® PE Pressure Equalized Vertical Seal Plate provides superior defense against water intrusion
Moon Township, Pa., March 17, 2009 — CENTRIA (www.CENTRIA.com) introduces Formawall PE, a pressure equalized vertical seal plate for CENTRIA’s horizontal Formawall® Dimension Series® and Formawall® Graphix Series™ exterior metal wall panels. “CENTRIA’s Formawall panels have always offered architects a complete wall system with advanced thermal efficiency and a pressure equalized horizontal joint for moisture control in a single panelized solution,” said Greg Lusty, architectural foam product manager, CENTRIA. “Now in addition to these features, and along with virtually unlimited possibilities in form, color and texture, the Formawall PE vertical seal plate offers even more advanced protection against water infiltration, especially with integrated wall components like windows, louvers and sunshades.” Key features and benefits of Formawall PE include a versatile extruded aluminum seal plate design that can be used on structural tubes or studs. A gasket and sealant create two lines of defense against water intrusion and the air seal can be inspected for continuity from the interior. Now the vertical and horizontal joinery, all pressure-equalized, minimize the force that normally drives water through an opening and the integrated vented drainage channel in the seal plate vents any moisture penetrating the gasket seal to the exterior without compromising the air seal. CENTRIA Launches MetalWrap™ New insulated composite backup solution for CENTRIA metal walls offers protection, shortens construction time
Moon Township, Pa., March 3, 2009 — CENTRIA (www.CENTRIA.com) introduces MetalWrap, an innovative backup system alternative designed specifically for CENTRIA Profile Series and FormaBond® metal wall systems. This new foam-insulated composite backup system offers superior air, water, vapor and thermal protection while also helping to reduce construction costs. “What’s unique about MetalWrap is its integrated single-panel design,” said Greg Lusty, architectural foam product manager, CENTRIA. “Unlike a traditional multi-component wall system, MetalWrap’s design not only provides advanced thermal and moisture protection, but also flexible installation options that can help reduce the number of trades required on the job site.” This all-in-one panel minimizes the number of shipments to the jobsite, reduces coordination and minimizes penetrations. Developed using Advanced Thermal Moisture Protection (ATMP)® Technology, MetalWrap maximizes a wall system’s ability to effectively control moisture without sacrificing thermal efficiency. The 2-inch thick panels provide an R-value of 14, while 3-inch thick panels test at R-21. The panel’s unique clip design minimizes penetration of the air barrier. Additionally, the clip system allows for either vertical or horizontal installation of the exterior cladding, making MetalWrap compatible with a variety of CENTRIA products. MetalWrap, Patent Pending, is Cradle to CradleSM Silver certified. The superior insulation, moisture protection and durability of MetalWrap can also help buildings earn LEED points in categories such as energy and atmosphere, materials and resources and indoor environmental quality. CENTRIA Introduces Two New IW Series Panel Profiles
Moon Township, Pa - July 2008 - CENTRIA has introduced two new IW Series panel profiles: IW-12A and IW-15A. The unique characteristics of each panel allow for more design options. These new IW Series panels may be used interchangeably with any of the additional ten IW Series panel choices.
“Architects and contractors alike will appreciate these new panels whether for new or retrofit installations,” said Tom Zombek, product manager for CENTRIA Profiled Products. “They’re designed for all-weather installation, which allows for fast-track scheduling, and while they’re aesthetically pleasing on their own, their interchangeable weather-resistant lock-joint design allows architects to mix and match panel profiles throughout a design.”
Adding to the flexibility of design, the panels can be installed either vertically or horizontally, they come in either smooth or embossed surface textures and are available in CENTRIA’s full palette of colors.
